Birthday Bonanza
Back in my first review update, I commented on the milestone I had achieved by completing 20 reviews. My innovative automatic back-patting machine began that day, and today, I welcome more congratulatory pats. Solomonrambling.com has officially turned a year old. We’ll ignore that I began on Blogger in August 2017 and moved to WordPress.org last December. Arbitrary Anniversary Time can only happen once a year, and it’s now, god damn it.
To celebrate the occasion, Editor One and I created a new introduction video. Compared to the Human: Fall Flat edition, this one reeks less of desperation and jump cuts and more of experience. Both versions contain similar levels of Solomon afraid of recording himself. Regardless of my speech, I now have a proper introduction, and that feels pretty damn spiffy.
Over this past year, I’ve spawned 30 reviews, 18 videos (accompanied by journal entries), five blogitorials, two short stories, and a hodgepodge of other articles. This averages to about a product a week, which means I’d have to earn close to $1,000 for each to tempt me from my day job. Since February, I have attracted roughly 1,600 views. We’ll assume I garnered another 400 views during my WordPress.com days to round that number to a nice 2,000. Approximately half of those are from me admiring myself from other browsers. Certainly, these numbers are not staggering, but it’s a start, and that was my goal for this year. Life has too many unfinished products for me to not treasure a thriving hobby.
There you have it, people. We have our benchmark and 360-odd days to beat it. Let’s ramble.
Congratulations on a year’s work!
